The Spring Lake Lakers had an early morning wake up on October 17th to meet the WoodTV 8 team at the newly built athletic center.
The spring lake band and student supporters showed up to show their best school spirit for the upcoming football game that night. The students participated in multiple games, such as the “tailgate toss”, and two members of the laker anchor staff received a chance to create an ad for the people center which was then showcased during the Football Frenzy program.
Autumn Wahlberg, one of the creators, commented that “it was an amazing opportunity that allowed us to interact and learn more about the people center from the Executive Director, Karen Reenders”. The team also received a chance to talk with the WoodTV8 team and were asked questions about their experience.
Football Frenzy this year was extra special considering it was in the Football players, Cheerleaders, and Senior Band members senior night. Many accomplished and committed seniors were recognized in front of the stands filled with roaring and supportive fans. There is nothing that can make that moment more special for the upcoming graduates.
I know the entirety of Spring Lake was excited to have this opportunity to be showcased on live television and have those who were not able to attend the game, cheer the team on from home.
