With Halloween coming up in two weeks, here are some ideas for last-minute planners!
Single costumes:
Movies
Coraline: a movie from 2009 the main character Coraline is iconic from her yellow rain coat and boots to her blue bob.
Forrest Gump: an iconic movie and character and easily recognizable. With lots of different iterations from the bus stop outfit to the marathon scene.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Aubry Hepburn’s iconic character of Holly Golightly with her classic elegance makes her an easy character to dress up as. A low simple bun, a black dress, a strand of pearls, and a pair of gloves will make you twins with the character.
Nacho Libre: Ignacio better known as Nacho Libre played by Jack Black. You could dress up as him from his date scene with Sister Encarnacion or in his famous wrestling outfit.
Books
Curious George: a classic childhood book you could dress up as either The Man in the Yellow Hat, an all yellow outfit (of course the yellow hat!) and black polka dot tie, or Curious George himself!
A Bad Case of Stripes: Camila Cream from the book A Bad Case of Stripes would be a fun and unique costume. Wearing her classic stripes or one of her many other faces.
Where’s Waldo: a very simple and easy costume all you need is a red striped shirt! Pair it with your favorite winter pom pom hat and everyone will know who you are!
Pinkalicious / Fancy Nancy: While they are two different characters, dressing up as they would be very similar. Fancy Nancy is an explosion of ruffles and accessories, while Pinkalicious is the same, simply just wear all pink.
Duo / Group Costumes
While dressing up is fun it itself doing it with a group or even just one other person can make it that much better!
Pete the Cat and Callie Cat: Another classic book series, Pete the Cat is a simple costume that you may already have in your closet. A green stripe tee, some red Converse and a blow-up guitar (or a real one) and as for Callie, she is often wearing a yellow or a pink and purple dress. If there are more people in your group, you can take inspiration from other characters in the book series.
The Smerfs: Options on who to dress up as from the movies are endless, from Smerfette to Papa Smerf or even Garamel. Paint your face blue and white pants (red for Papa Smurf) and a cap, and you’ll be all set!
