Where are they now: Tricia Suchecki

When Tricia Suchecki graduated from Spring Lake High School in 1995, she just loved Spring Lake so much, she couldn’t get away from it!
Tricia was born in Illinois, but moved to Spring Lake when she was ten. While in high school, she enjoyed playing a lot of sports such as tennis, volleyball, and golf.
Some things she enjoyed about high school were sports and the friendships she made. She explains, “I also cherished many of my teachers. Spring Lake Schools prepared me well for the academic rigors of college. I was well prepared, especially in writing and history.”
After she graduated as Tricia Gregory in 1995, she went on to spend four years studying at Michigan State University.
Tricia is now a third grade teacher working at St. Mary’s in Spring Lake and is also still living in Spring Lake. She has been teaching for 18 years, 14 of those being at St. Mary’s. All of the schools she has worked at have all been Catholic as well.
In her free time, she enjoys going for daily runs, going on her boat, playing golf, shopping with her mom, reading, hanging out with her french bulldog Ziggy and her husband Brett.
Tricia also believes that she has learned many valuable lessons after high school. She says, “The most valuable thing I have learned in the years since high school is that people will always remember how you made them feel. They may not remember what you said, but they will remember how they felt when they were around you.” This is important to her because she is a teacher and she wants her students to fondly remember their time with her. She wants her students to remember their time with her as feeling safe, smarter each day, and loved.
