Mr. Way Hosts Strength Training and Lifting

As many know, and we hope many will learn, Mr. Way has been hosting a weightlifting session after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays available for all high school students. 

Mr. Way has been running these sessions mostly for athletes but encourages all students to attend if they are interested. So far, Mr. Way has seen a great turnout at his lifting sessions and as he hoped, it has kept growing. I recently asked Mr. Way if he feels the weightlifting sessions are truly productive. His response was simple, “Yes, it has been fantastic.” 

Mr. Way’s weightlifting sessions included as much learning about how to do the lifts, then just doing them. Overall, he’s creating an environment for students to be successful in the gym with no guidance. But, don’t forget the conditioning! Mr. Way is sure to include at least 15 minutes of conditioning and/or core strength at the end of the sessions to be sure students are ready for winter sports. If you are in a winter sport and have not attended weightlifting, be sure to check it out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:45!
