For as long as anyone could remember the Lions were not the best team in the NFL and even though they still are far from being the best, this season brought a whole new type of hope to Detroit Lion fans all over Michigan. In the 2022 season, the NFL team had their fans believing they had a shot at the playoffs due to their unexpected season of winning. Even though the Lions were not able to quite make the playoffs, their season left many of the fans thinking about the lions’ next season. This season the Lions were able to pull out 9 wins against other components in the league. The Lions started their season in typical fashion by losing. They lost 6 of their first 7 games leaving the fans disappointed in another losing season however, that all turned around when they were able to win 8 out of their last 11 games. And had the chance to go to the NFL playoffs for the first time in six years. Sadly with the Seattle Seahawks clinching a win against the Los Angeles rams the seahawks also ended Detroit’s chances at a season leading to the playoffs.

Despite the Lions not being able to make the playoffs and compete to be in the super bowl, the Lions did much better this season than most fans thought and a lot of thanks is due to the new coach Dan Campbell. Campbell became the coach of the lions in January 2021 after spending several years in the NFL himself. He has brought a new light to the team and hopefully can lead his team to the playoffs next year with the help of star quarterback Jared Goff and rookie Aiden Hutchison!
