Spring Lake High School will soon be getting its first-ever second floor.
The high school’s new front entrance will be completed by the start of the 2025 school year, according to school officials.
In the next few weeks the construction team will be putting up the exterior bricks on the new space. Once the brickwork is done, they will start furnishing the inside. The current office will be getting its walls taken down sometime in August of next year. The old office space is expected to open up during the next school year.
“They will start working on the old office area and do construction on making it more opened up,” said Ben Armey, the principal of Spring Lake High School.
The new office will be used in the 2025 school year. The new administration space will have seating for students on the bottom story. The second story will have the administrators’ offices, counselors, social workers and other office staff.
The yellow currently visible on the exterior of the construction space is insulation.
There will be a lot of changes for the new office and the fieldhouse, which started tree clearing and construction this spring. Both projects will impact students next school year.
Assistant Principal Bush said he’s excited for the brand new administration office – including the views from the windows.
