Varsity Volleyball Goes All In

The 2022 Girls Varsity Volleyball season has been a notable journey for the girls. The team has had a lot of recognizable victories, including beating Grand Haven in two sets at Battle of the Boardwalk on August 26th. This game made their season 6-3. Following the Battle of the Boardwalk, our Lakers traveled to Zeeland East and triumphed against the competition winning in three sets. On the same day, our Lakers beat Montague in three sets and Western Michigan Christian in two.

The Varsity team beat Fruitport in a 5-set thriller on September 30th. The leaders of this game included Junior Kalli Lewkowski with 20 kills, 16 digs, and 3 blocks along with Junior Brooke Bolthouse with 11 kills and 29 digs,  Junior Ella Gapczynski with 2 aces from the service line, and 3 blocks. According to Head Coach Cassidy Hazekamp, “This season has been full of really great growth, as players, and as young women. They are some of the hardest-working, coachable, and kind girls you will meet. This year our theme is “All In” and these athletes have shown they are all in from day one. It’s been an honor to coach them this season.” The Lady Lakers continue to play their hardest. Their next match is October 25th at home for the Fruitport HS Conference Tournament. Wish our Lakers luck with entering district games this November.
