Spring Lake High School offers a wide variety of clubs and sports for students to partake in: E-Sports, tennis, chess club, and soccer are all examples. There is something for everyone! However, we also recognize that there are things that we do not have that people wish to participate in, and we’d like to make it our goal to accommodate every student.
Likely so, a Spring Lake Equestrian Team is an accommodation that could be made. A high school Equestrian Team offers competitive show opportunities for riders 9th through 12th grade. The season typically starts during the summer, competing at various shows around the state. You and your team rack up points through participation in classes such as saddleseat, huntseat, western pleasure, speed events, and more. The points you earn determine how far you go in the competition season: states, regionals, and even nationals.
The cool thing about this team is that horses can be provided to those who do not have their own. However, if you do own one, you are welcome to use your own horse. The shows are not breed limited, meaning you can ride any breed of horse. The team will also have a seasoned professional as a designated coach.
An Equestrian Team is an incredible opportunity to make new friends, gain new experience, and have a little bit of fun with other students. Being able to have a partnership with such amazing animals is an experience I wish everybody could have. I believe that the introduction of an E-Team to Spring Lake could be a beneficial aspect to the school, allowing students to find who they are and experiment with their passions. If this is something that interests you, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make it happen!
