As winter is slowly coming to an end, Spring Lake is now starting to have a pattern of “false spring.” A false spring is when the weather gets really nice for a couple days, getting you excited for spring, then all of a sudden there is snow.
The weather got near 60 degrees in late February, and was very sunny outside for a couple of days, which had everyone believing spring was coming. On Saturday at the end of the month, there was a snow storm that ended up melting very quickly as the temperature began to rise again.
Part of the recent up-and-down pattern includes violent warm and cold fronts, causing strong winds and thunderstorms. Two tornados touched down in Michigan over the weekend in Three Rivers and Union City, causing extensive damage and killing multiple people.
According to Wood TV Weather, Wednesday is predicted to have a chance of snow with a mix of rain. This weekend, Spring Lake is also predicted to see more snow on Sunday.
Junior Elena Robinson said, “I am very sad about the weather constantly changing, but I am very excited for spring.”
As we enter the season of spring sports, students are hoping to get some warmer and nicer weather for their practices and also have hope that the weather will stay that way.
