This year, Spring Lake is building a boathouse for the Spring Lake and Grand Haven crew team. The boathouse will cost around $114,000, and the team has raised $95,000. The boathouse plans to be built on the Grand River near the Grabinski Field and there will be more information given about the boathouse soon.
The team is very excited to have this boathouse because it will make storing the boats more convenient for them. Storing the boats outside can be risky and harmful. The team won’t have to worry about any more damage done by the weather.
Senior Owen Fogel said “As soon as a storm passes, our team text group goes crazy. We do our best to secure the boats and keep them safe, but you never really know what can happen. We’ve had boats damaged in the past, and that’s not something you want to worry about—especially the night before the biggest regatta of the season.”
